our mission
Our mission and operations are informed by a feminist, relational approach to mental health and community building. We believe in resourcing our collective perspectives, knowledge and experience to provide the best possible mental health care. We see each client as the expert on their own life, and each clinician as a unique contributor to our mission.
our philosophy
We guide our clients in the creation of self-identified goals, and work to provide skills and strategies that are applicable to the real world in support of self-efficacy. Wild Hope therapists encourage our clients’ to harness their existing strengths, skills, intuition and experience in service of creating the life they wish to live.
diversity, equity + inclusion
Wild Hope Therapy engages in ongoing exploration of how our organization and clinical practices can be inviting and accessible to all who seek our care, or work within our organization. We proactively reevaluate our own biases and reflect on the impact of our position in our community. Wild Hope Therapy is unequivocally anti-racist and LGBTQIA2S+ affirming.
land acknowledgment
Wild Hope Therapy acknowledges that our offices currently inhabit the traditional homeland of the Wyandot, Miami, Potawatomi, Delaware, Peoria, Seneca, Ojibwe, Osage, and Shawnee people in Columbus; and the Delaware, Shawnee, Wyandot, Miami, Ottawa, Potawatomi, Ojibwe, Kickapoo, Wea, and Kaskaskia people in Cleveland.
Tribal nations were forcibly removed from this land through the 1795 Treaty of Greenville and the violent dispossession of the Indian Removal Act of 1830. We are mindful of the injustices that have brought each of us to work and live on this land. We are committed to honoring and reconciling our shared history, and to being advocates for all Indigenous peoples including supporting and uplifting the thousands of Indigenous peoples that currently call Ohio home. We are continuing to educate ourselves about the historical and current impact of colonization, and strive to support access to Indigenous mental health care.
